Bubba Watson won the 2018 Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands over the weekend of June 24.

The win is the 12th of his career and third of the season, making Watson the season’s winningest player on the PGA Tour.

Watson began Sunday’s final round six strokes behind leader Paul Casey, but a string of 6 birdies over the final 10 holes lead to a -7 (63,) leaving him -17 and 3 strokes ahead of the 4-way tie for runner up.

Stewart Cink, Beau Hossler, J.B. Holmes and Paul Casey rounded out the top five, each ending the tournament at -14. Following 3 straight rounds of 68, Cink shot the low round of the tournament Sunday with a -8, 62.

“I wasn’t thinking about a win today,” said Watson following play Sunday. “I was just playing golf and trying to stay focused and committed so I could get momentum and confidence going into the next tournaments coming up.”

The win continues the strongest season of Watson’s career. After dropping out of the top 100 in the World Golf Rankings last year, a year which also saw him drop 20 pounds and miss 7 cuts, Watson has climbed to a WGR of 13, and currently ranks 3rd in the FedEx Cup.

“It’s amazing what good energy and some healthy energy will do,” Watson proclaimed. We couldn’t have said it better ourselves, Bubba.
