Par 18 Chipping Challenge

On this week’s Podcast GLT Golf’s Game of the Week series covers Matthew Cooke’s Par 18 chipping game.

While chipping is the game’s primary focus, shots can vary depending on where stations are positioned.

The goal of Par 18 is to get up & down in as few shots as possible, ideally in 18 shots or less.

The rules of the game are as follows:

1. Position 1 golf ball in 9 different stations around the green. Depending on the skill of the player, this can vary anywhere from fringe to rough.

2. Players must chip

3. Players hole out with putter

Along with the locations, the scoring system varies depending on a player’s level of skill.

Level 1: 1 chip plus 3 putts= 0 points. 1 chip plus 2 putts= 10 points. 1 chip plus 1 putt= 20 points.

Level 2: 1 chip plus 3 putts= -5. 1 chip plus 2 putts= 0. 1 chip plus 1 putt=1. 1 chip plus 0 putts= 20.

Level 3: 1 chip plus 3 putts= -10. 1 chip plus 2 putts= -5. 1 chip plus 1 putt= 0. 1 chip plus 0 putts=10.
