Consider this: your golf ball lands just short of the green, about 15 yards from the pin and several feet from the putting surface. There are questions to answer before playing your next shot. How is the lie? How smooth is the grass between your ball and the putting surface? Should you pitch, chip or putt the ball? What is the best club to use – wedge, 8-iron, hybrid, putter?
Bubba Watson won the 2018 Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands over the weekend of June 24.
The win is the 12th of his career and third of the season, making Watson the season’s winningest player on the PGA Tour.
Watson began Sunday’s final round six strokes behind leader Paul Casey, but a string of 6 birdies over the final 10 holes lead to a -7 (63,) leaving him -17 and 3 strokes ahead of the 4-way tie for runner up.
If you’ve followed the NCAA Championship the last few years, you may have heard of a company called Clicgear. Numerous players have opted to push instead of carry their clubs.
With studies showing the health benefits of using a push cart, it’s time more players utilize a quality product to help increase their overall energy on the course.
In Part 1 of this series we introduced motor learning of golf skills as a type of “perceptual-sensory-motor-cognitive learning.” In Part 2, we defined learning as an internalized, relatively permanent improvement that results from practice. Here, in Part 3, we discuss motor learning at a deeper, conceptual level. We explore what actually changes as the result of practice.
Dustin Johnson won the 2018 St. Jude Classic PGA Tour event on June 10. With the win, Johnson reclaims the No. 1 position in the World Golf Ranking.
The win, his 18th, places Johnson in elite company. Since WWII, only 30 PGA Tour players have won 18 or more tournaments. Of those 30, only Johnson and Tiger Woods aren’t in the Hall of Fame, though a position likely waits for both following their retirements.
Aready holding a 4 stroke, Johnson eagled out Sunday to finish the tournament -19, 6 strokes ahead of Andrew Putnam.
The name Cobra-Puma Golf has become synonymous with easy to hit golf clubs for golfers of all levels.
Originally founded in San Diego, CA as Cobra Golf in 1973 by champion Australian amateur golfer, Thomas Crow, and based on modifications Crow made to his Precision Golf clubs, the company debuted their first commercially available golf club in 1975.
June 6, 2018 was Women’s Golf Day, an initiative defined on it’s website as a one day event celebrating girls and women playing golf and learning the skills that last a lifetime. While GLT Golf nor AJ Academy were directly involved in the program, it’s a mission we certainly stand behind.
All too often, gender, race and other social and economic barriers keep children from picking up a golf club and feeling the joy of sending a ball in flight. At GLT Golf, we believe golf should be a game for everyone, and we’re prepared to practice what we preach.
